Scope of Work: This project consisted of removing the existing burner corner tube panels and installing new owner furnished corner tube panels on a Combustion Engineering 20 MW boiler for the City of Independence Power and Light Department. All four (4) burner assemblies, associated parts, and piping along with the boiler outer skin casing and refractory had to be removed for accessibility to the boiler tubes. Each new corner was pre-fabricated by the OEM and consisted of 12 tubes of 3" diameter and 23' in length. Each panel weighted approximately 3000 lbs. All work was performed under ASME code utilizing certified welders and inspected and documented per our QC program as required for an authorized stamp holder.
