Scope of Work: This project consisted of demolition to remove piping, equipment and structural steel floors from a four- story dry flowable formulation plant for Bayer CropScience. Rand then reinstalled new foundations, structural steel, flooring, pipe racks, equipment, process and utility piping, HVAC and process vent systems. In addition, Rand installed instrumentation pneumatics to convert the plant to a liquid formulation unit. Included in the project was the development of all piping isometric drawings and fabrication details from limited piping plans and sections.

The installation project consisted of the setting of approximately 145 tagged major equipment items and the fabrication and erection of 251 piping lines. The logistics of the project were very challenging, with close coordination of the equipment and structural steel installation required to facilitate installation of the large equipment items. In addition, the construction schedule and plan had to be created and continually adjusted to accommodate the receival dates of existing equipment relocated from other Owner sites. Rand's scope included installation of agitators in the vessels. Included as well was the installation of all in-line and on-line instrumentation and the installation of all pneumatics, from the multi-tube bundles to the individual instrumentation connections.

During the course of the project, the Owner awarded additional work to Rand, including a tank farm and two truck and seatainer loading and unloading facilities. Rand was also retained by the Owner to provide commissioning support during start-up.
