Scope of Work: This project consisted of the demolition to remove piping, equipment and structural steel from a five- story dry flowable formulation plant for Bayer CropScience. Rand then reinstalled new structural steel, flooring, monorails, equipment, process and utility piping. Rand also performed numerous modifications to the process vent systems. In addition, Rand installed instrumentation pneumatics to support the new control arrangement. Included in the project was the development of all piping isometric drawings and fabrication details from limited piping plans and sections.
The project consisted of the removal of approximately 25 pieces of equipment as well as the setting of approximately 7 new and relocated pieces of major equipment. Included were the fabrication and erection of 64 piping lines and ducts. Rand's scope included the installation of all in-line and on-line instrumentation and the installation of all pneumatics, from the multi-tube bundles to the individual instrumentation connections.
