Scope of Work: This project consisted of the complete renovation of the Spencer & Kimball Wings including the demolition of existing areas down to vacant shell space and build back. Portions of the project were awarded to Rand on a design build basis with submission to the City of Kansas City, MO for permitting. In addition, Rand removed the major infrastructure equipment in sequenced phases and replaced the existing 600 ton cooling towers and associated chillers, boiler, air handling units, hydronic pumps, steam/condensate piping systems and hydronic systems over a period of 2 years. Rand also upgraded the research labs with new constant volume Phoenix valves and hoods, as well as upgraded the building automation system to current standards.
